2. Do the Activities as a Family!

WHAT YOU DO: Put a variety of items in a paper bag (like a rock, ball of yarn, marker, cardboard, small toy etc.). Have your child reach into the bag with their eyes closed and ask them to guess what they are feeling. After they guess for awhile, ask them if they think the activity would have been easier if they could see instead of just feel. Remind them of how Jesus helped the blind man in today's story.

WHAT YOU DO: Print out the included rocket template and help your child color and construct the pieces together!

Write it Out

Often when you hear about using your words carefully, you think about telling the truth. But God calls us to something even more, when it comes to the words we use.

Read Ephesians 4:29 and make a list of the things your words should do:

Put another way, this is a great way to “test” your words before you say them: Is it true? Is it helpful? Is it kind? If you can’t answer yes to all three, the words likely shouldn’t be said.
Use your words wisely.

Fill in the Blanks

No matter what’s going on around us, it's important to remember that the words we say make a difference.

Fill in the blanksfrom today’s verse:

“A _______________________ _______________________ turns anger away. But _______________________ _______________________ stir up anger.” Proverbs15:1

Gentle answers calm things down. Mean words stir things up. So what kind of friend do you want to be? The kind that calms things down or stir things up, possibly making it worse?
