Our Deep Roots Mentor Club is inspired by the great work of the late Dr. Karyn Purvis, Dr. David Cross, and the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at TCU, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®). This intervention model has been applied successfully in a variety of contexts, and with many children for whom other interventions have failed.

Rooted Families Rooted Communities uses the TBRI model to emphasize the integration of the following principles:
• Empowering Principles (felt safety, nutrition, hydration, sensory processing and self-regulation)
• Connecting Principles (attachment, healthy touch, engagement strategies and playful interaction)
• Correcting Principles (life value terms and IDEAL response)

The ultimate goal of our Deep Roots Mentor Club is to help families and children develop meaningful connections with one another and learn to understand and meet needs. Learning self-regulation skills will allow children to not only survive but ultimately thrive at home and in life.

Deep Roots is open to people of any faith and will have some faith based content in the weekly lessons.

Making Sense of Your Worth

Making Sense of Your Worth is an 8-week therapeutic small group, with a focus on attachment. Many adults struggle to have healthy relationships and/or struggle to attach to their children in a secure way. Making Sense of Your Worth gives participants the opportunity to process their own attachment history and work through any lies they believe about themselves. Participants emerge with a stronger, healthier, self worth, and an increased ability to maintain healthy bonded relationships. Many caregivers find TBRI® implementation much easier after participating in Making Sense of Your Worth. Specialized versions are available for the general public, teens, and domestic violence survivors. A faith based version is also available. Making Sense of Your Worth was written by Cindy R. Lee LCSW of the Halo Project.

When: Mondays, October 13 - December 8, 6-8pm PST
Where: Virtual (Zoom)
