Circle up with us this fall as we launch our sermon series, Elevate.
It is easy to look down our noses at history. With our access to information, global perspective and ability to communicate, we can think of the 1st century as archaic or backwards. While some social attitudes and practices have evolved, many of the relational issues that plagued the first century church are the same items that plague us today: things like conflicting values, division, dishonor, conformity, and tribalism.
It is no surprise that cultural issues are exacerbated when we highlight the things that make us different and use them to keep us separated. A culture that promotes separation is actually made up of thousands of individual relationships that are separated. Do you want to change the culture… then change the culture of your relationships. This is why Jesus came… to elevate the quality of our life by elevating the quality of our relationships. Yes… even that relationship.
This series will press into the elements that hinder our ability to ‘love one another” and give us tools to help us elevate, even the most difficult, of our relationships. Each week we will look at a different early church to identify the relational crisis or issue they were facing and what was needed for that crisis to be resolved.
Thank you so much for joining us for Women's Weekend 2024: Restore & Belong!
We encourage you to check out the list of resources below, provided by our Saturday speaker, Hannah Souter. Please note that not all of these resources are Christian. Some are from a faith perspective and some are from experts and practitioners in the field of embodiment, regardless of faith.
If you need additional support or resources, we encourage you to check out our BCC Cares page.
