A NOTE FROM GINGER MORGAN

Exodus 33

The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”
And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.”

My presence will go with you…..

This is a season of significant change for me, with transitions on every front. That reality carried me into a recent prayer retreat. I went with three questions to ask God during that time of solitude:

Where are you asking me to invest my life?
Who are you asking me to love?
Where are you asking me to heal?

As I prayed over those questions, I was hoping God’s answer would offer me details to bring clarity amid so many unknowns. Instead, he answered me with familiar words from Exodus 33, words that have served as a long-standing anchor in my life, “My presence will go with you.” In His faithfulness, God answered me with what I truly needed (the assurance of His presence), rather than what I imagined I needed (details about the future).

Perhaps this season is also full of unknowns for you. How might confidence in God’s presence with you reshape your perspective?
