Good News, Great Joy, All People.

On the very first Christmas night an Angel announced something special to the Shepherds of Bethlehem and there’s a special part of it that I love to zoom in on during Advent. It’s the Angel’s statement that this announcement was “…good news of great joy that will be for all people.” (Luke 2:10) What if we paused and let that sink in for just a moment:

Good News,
Great Joy,
ALL
People.

That angelic announcement is the heart of the Gospel of Jesus - Because He lived, died, and was resurrected, if we choose Him - we can be too! This is why He is worthy of our worship. That Good news fills us with Great joy, and it’s that same invitation God is still making to ALL people today….Two thousand years later.

That first Christmas announcement is also the heart of every special Christmas celebration. When we gather with family and friends we’re feeling and expressing our great joy about the good news, so we make room and invitations for anyone who’d like to experience worship with us.

I’m so excited for our Christmas Eve services at BCC on Sunday, December 24th. We’re going to have such a special time worshiping Jesus together, celebrating how He’s transformed us this year, and lighting candles together to remember that Jesus, the Light of the World, shines into our darkness and darkness will never overcome Him.

Who do you know that might benefit from some Good News this year? Who would you like to experience Great Joy with? Could that person fit into the category of “ALL People”? I suspect they might, so this year why not play the role of a Christmas Angel? Could you make the same declaration by offering a personal invitation?

Good News,
Great Joy,
ALL
People.

We’re looking forward to celebrating with you!
