Serve With Us
When I was in high school and college, I had the privilege of spending my summers serving in some really simple ways while partnering with some really special ministries...
- picking up trash and visiting homes in Downtown LA in struggling neighborhoods that felt overlooked or intentionally ignored
- washing dishes and cleaning washrooms for kids at camp where they learned archery and that Jesus loves them
- swinging a hammer and sharing fresh clothing with families in Mexico who were looking to their local church for support and connection
- painting church chairs and sorting medical supplies for a missions outpost that was understaffed and overwhelmed
During those warm summer days, the Lord used these typically mundane tasks to buoy others but equally so to refine, humble, and grow my heart in loving Him and serving others. The dish pit, mop bucket, paint brush, and hard-earned calluses were trajectory-setting and perspective-altering in my life. Seeing in action God's economy of simple investments into His Kingdom mysteriously yielding joy, producing returns, and offering real-life blessing made a lifetime impression on my soul. The supernatural algorithm of enrichment when we choose to link arms and offer our time, talent and treasure in Jesus' name has forever changed me.
Would you consider linking arms with BCC and serving in some simple ways in your home, neighborhood, community, or alongside our church family this summer? I am confident the Lord will use our investment to encourage others and to enrich us!
Mark 9:41 For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.
