It’s A New Day: Laugh Again - Psalm 126:2 (NLT) - Jon Furman

Proverbs 17:22 (NLT)
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.

“Too Soon”

Psalm 126:1-6 (NLT)
When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream! We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.” Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy! Restore our fortunes, Lord, as streams renew the desert. Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.

Psalm 126:2 - “We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy.”

Remembering what God HAD DONE (Past)
Identifying what He WAS DOING (Present)
Believing what He WOULD DO (Future)

Exodus 23: 14-17a (NLT)
“Each year you must celebrate three festivals in my honor. 15 First, celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread. For seven days the bread you eat must be made without yeast, just as I commanded you. Celebrate this festival annually at the appointed time in early spring… for that is the anniversary of your departure from Egypt…

“Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us!”

The God who brought you here will not leave you here.

Exodus 23:16a (NLT)
“Second, celebrate the Festival of Harvest, when you bring me the first crops of your harvest.

Gratefulness is best expressed through generosity to God and others.

Exodus 23:16b-17 (NLT)
“Finally, celebrate the Festival of the Final Harvest at the end of the harvest season, when you have harvested all the crops from your fields.17 At these three times each year, every man in Israel must appear before the Sovereign, the Lord.

The people of God, feel the joy of God, when they celebrate and place their faith in God.

Application Points:
